The Great Shepherd; Dependable God

Do you have a prodigal son or daughter out there in the world? A prodigal that has left the covering and security of the Father; the Great Shepherd of the Sheep? Have you been praying for their safe return to the flock and safety and provisions of the green pasture and still waters where our Great Shepherd watches over His sheep? I'm here to exhort you to Keep praying! Keep believing! Hold on to the Truth and the Word of our Lord; He will bring them home.

See I've been praying for a prodigal and one morning the Lord gave me

Psalm 23

23 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

I got this vision in my mind's eye of Jesus, our Great Shepherd, going out to search for the prodigal. Leaving the 99 under the watchful eye of the Holy Spirit, to search for the one stray that has lost their way. And once He has found them, He carries that lost sheep upon His neck, His shoulders to bring them back to the safety of the flock; the rest of the fold under the sound of His voice and within the protection of His gate. I saw a beautiful green pasture with rolling hills and plenty of provision. I saw a bubbling, crystal clear stream running through it and the sheep within the fold lacked for nothing.

They dwelt in safety.

They grazed in peace

They drank without fear.

They rested and lay upon the grass with confidence in knowing that the Great Shepherd was there to protect them, keep them safe, provide for them and assure ALL is well. And when that prodigal is found and brought home, the others look up, seeing them approach from a far off, run to the gate to greet them and rejoice at the safe return of their brethren

who lost their way, but now has been found;

Rejoice! and again I say Rejoice!

Our God is Faithful!

Our God is Dependable!

Our God hastens to perform His Word and He watches over it carefully.

Every word from God spoken over your prodigal must come to pass. It cannot and will not return unto Him unaccomplished. IT MUST HAPPEN! GOD says in

Jeremiah 29:11

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”

The NIV says:

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

So His thoughts and plans of peace, not of evil; hope and of a good future must come to pass. Keep standing in the gap in intercession for your prodigal. Remind God of His Word over them. (Not that He's forgotten, because He hasn't ) but He wants you to come to Him. And TRUST Him to do just what He said.

Rejoice! and again I say Rejoice!

Our Great Shepherd is Dependable and Faithful!

He will do it!

Our prodigals are coming home!
